Author Bio

Evangeline Newton is Professor of Literacy Education and Director of the Center for Literacy at the University of Akron. She teaches literacy methods courses and professional development workshops to elementary and middle school teachers in Ohio school districts. Evangeline has researched and written on several topics. With Tim Rasinski, Nancy Padak, and Rick M. Newton, she coauthored Greek & Latin Roots: Keys to Building Vocabulary.

Nancy Padak, Ed.D., is a professor of education at Kent State University. Dr. Padak serves as principal investigator and project administrator of the state literacy resource at Kent State. Her teaching experience includes middle school, high school, college, and adult education. She has also served as an administrator for K-12 and adult education.

Timothy Rasinski, Ph.D., is a professor of education at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Tim has written over 150 articles and has edited and/or authored over 12 books on reading education. His scholarly interests include reading fluency and word study, reading in the elementary and middle grades, and readers who struggle.
